SANGRE GRANDE REGIONAL CORPORATION HONOURS DR. HOLLIS LIVERPOOL AND MR. ERIC TAYLOR

Dr. Hollis Liverpool, ORTT (Mighty Chalk­dust) and Eric “Pink Panther” Taylor were hon­oured by the Sangre Grande Regional Corporation for their contributions to the field of Culture. Another icon, Dr. Roy Francis Cape who was previously honoured was also in attendance to share in the festivities.
The day started with visits to several schools in the region, including Valencia preschool and Guaico Presbyterian Primary School where the Junior Panora­ma Champs serenaded the guests. A motorcade leading to Monte Cristo Park followed which led to a short ribbon-cutting ceremony for the naming of the Eric “Pink Panther” Taylor Bandstand.
Subsequently, a reception was held at the Corporation’s Coun­cil Chamber where plaques were presented to our honourees.
Chairman Martin Terry Ron­don lauded the contributions of Dr. Liverpool, Mr. Taylor and Dr. Cape and pledged his commitment to honouring oth­er persons who have made a significant contribution to our
country.
Member of Parliament for Toco/Sangre Grande, Honour­able Glenda Jennings-Smith echoed the sentiments of Chair­man Rondon and thanked the gentlemen for their contribu­tions.
